Pastor’s Corner

Dear Friends,
Next Saturday, on November 19, we are going to have our Craft Fair. It is my first time that I will be participating in this extraordinary event. I want to thank all of you who have worked so hard to put this on.

Gathering our community together is very important in living our lives as Catholics. This is an exciting event. It will give us the opportunity to come together to reach out to those in our greater community while performing an act of service that supports your parish. Thank you in advance for your willingness to help to serve, to contribute—and yes, to get a couple of pierogies.

With Thanksgiving right around the corner and Christmas on the horizon, I hope you find what you are looking for. This is not just a shameless plug, but I will also sell Year of the Eucharist t- shirts and polo shirts at the Parish table. They make great gifts and it is also a simple way to witness. Our participation in the craft fair is living out our call to stewardship in the Gospel.

Stewardship is important to living the Gospel. When we think of stewardship, we think of giving of our time, talent and treasure to help support our parish. Not only are we supporting the building and the operation, but we are coming to together as a community of faith and supporting one another in our walk together with Christ.

Each one of us has a unique gift and a specific vocation. Our first call is a call to holiness. After this, we each have a specific talent or gift which we are given, and this gift we are given is meant to be shared. Whatever talent you have, the gift you were given was given by God and meant to be shared all to support the One Body of Christ. In the USCCB, the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops, they title this as the spirituality of stewardship. Pray and ask God for the best way you can serve; the Lord loves a joyful giver.

God bless you and thank you for all the ways you make this an extraordinary parish!

Sincerely Yours,
Fr. David Aufiero
