Pastor’s Corner

+JMJ+
Dear Friends,

You might find this hard to believe, but I am struggling for words. How does one put into words that which lies deep within the heart? When I first came to Holy Family I knew I was in the right place. I knew that this was the place God wanted me. I knew that I would not be here forever - though I did think I would at least have 10 years. I made it to almost 7 but it does feel like it has been much longer than that. Perhaps that is because South Deerfield has become home for me and you have become like my own family. I came as a young, inexperienced pastor eager to do well and insert myself into the life of the parish and the community. This new beginning was not as easy as I thought it would be. It was tough at first and some decisions that were necessary caused some difficulty. Nevertheless, we persevered. Together, we managed to overcome quite a bit and breathe some life back into our parish. In that process, you have helped me grow. You have helped me grow into my priesthood. I am a better priest and a better man because of what you folks have taught me. I hope that in some way, I have helped you as well. But more so, you have helped me. I came here young and inexperienced. I leave here a little older, a little wiser, and with many experiences that I will not forget and for which I am grateful. Thank you all for making these last years some of the best of my priesthood.
